What is IELTS?
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. Over 11,000 organisations globally trust this test, including universities, employers, and immigration bodies in Australia, Canada, the UK, and New Zealand.
You can take the test on Paper (until January 2026) or on a Computer. The content, timing, and marking remain exactly the same for both delivery methods; only the test day experience differs.

Common Preparation Mistakes
Many students in Bangladesh struggle to reach their desired score not because of poor English, but due to poor preparation strategies. Avoid these pitfalls:
- ❌ Passive Preparation: Watching hours of YouTube videos without actually writing essays or speaking out loud. IELTS is a skill, not a subject to memorise.
- ❌ Ignoring Time Limits: Practising Reading or Writing without a timer. You might get all answers right in 2 hours, but you only have 1 hour in the exam.
- ❌ Memorising Answers: Examiners are trained to spot memorised scripts in Speaking and Writing. This will severely lower your score.
- ❌ Neglecting Grammar: While fluency is important, basic grammatical errors (articles, prepositions, subject-verb agreement) prevent many students from crossing Band 6.0.
