📝 Test Format Overview
The IELTS Writing section is 60 minutes long and consists of two tasks. You must write at least 150 words for Task 1 and 250 words for Task 2.
📂 Task 1 vs Task 2
Task 1 (Academic): Describe a graph, chart, process, or map.
Task 1 (General): Write a letter (formal/informal/semi-formal).
Task 2: Write an essay in response to a point of view, problem, or argument.

- ✔️ Plan before you write — use 5 minutes to outline your ideas.
- ✔️ Maintain clear structure: introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion.
- ✔️ Use linking devices (e.g. however, moreover, on the other hand).
- ✔️ Avoid contractions in Academic Writing.
